Daly City… Serramonte Center has a new Certified Farmers’ Market opening on Saturdays, beginning June 17th, 2006 from 10am to 2pm. A welcome addition to the already popular Thursday farmers market, now in its 15th year, the new Saturday farmers’ market features local California farmers and food purveyors. The market is located on Serramonte Boulevard and Gellert Drive in Daly City behind the Target Store.
Doug Hayden, President of the California Farmers’ Market Association who manages the farmers’ markets in Daly City states “For several years the community has expressed their desire to have a market on Saturdays because many are unable to come to the market on a weekday. Now they will have access to fresh fruits and vegetables twice a week.”
The Summer Harvest bounty from California Certified growers and producers includes tree-ripened cherries from Hollister and berries from Watsonville, peaches, nectarines and apricots from the San Joaquin Valley, garden heirloom tomatoes and fresh salsa, Organic and Asian vegetables, fresh ocean fish, baked breads, ranch eggs and more! Shoppers can also enjoy free recipes at the farmers’ market’s information booth.
The Daly City Certified Farmers’ Markets at Serramonte Center are locations approved by the County Agricultural Commissioner where farmers offer for sale only those fruits and vegetables they grow themselves.
