Serramonte Center is Now a Wi-Fi Hotspot

State-Of-The-Art Mall is First in Bay Area to Provide Wireless High-Speed Internet Service

DALY CITY, CA, April 15, 2004 Jones Lang LaSalle, the largest third-party manager of regional shopping centers in the nation, today announced that SBC Communications Inc. recently launched its SBC FreedomLinkSM wireless high-speed Internet service (Wi-Fi), at Serramonte Center in Daly City, California. As the first enclosed mall in the San Francisco Bay area to provide service throughout all of the mall’s public traffic areas and in the food court, Serramonte is on the cutting edge of this trend- setting wireless connectivity initiative.

Through SBC Communication’s service and support, the Wi-Fi Internet connection at Serramonte will allow shoppers and patrons with Wi-Fi enabled laptops or portable devices to have high-speed Internet access to e-mail, the Web or their company’s private network without requiring a cabled Internet connection.

"The installation of wireless Internet access further enhances Serramonte’s reputation as a forward-thinking urban retail center and raises the bar for the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as California as a whole," said Dick Bartlett, General Manager at Serramonte Center.

Owned by Capital and Counties U.S.A., Inc., Serramonte is an 865,000-square-foot shopping center with more than 120 stores including Target, Macy’s, Mervyn’s, Victoria’s Secret Beauty, Forever 21, Hot Topic, The Children’s Place, Journeys, Kay Jewelers and, coming this summer, Hollister. The center serves a local population of 1.1 million as well as shoppers from San Francisco and the Northern Peninsula.
